Pequea Valley defeated Conrad Weiser 3-2 to win the AA PIAA championship.

After two weeks of nail biting close wins, Indiana came up just a bit short against eventual PIAA champ Pequea Valley.  The team traded quick wins early in the match with Indiana'a Zach Palko making short work of Brady Burns 6-3, 6-0 and Pequea Valley's first doubles due of Josh Gingerich and Josh Heinrich defeating Sammy Szep and Cormac Pagnucci 6-1, 6-3.  Despite near comebacks for Indiana at #3 singles and #2 doubles, Pequea Valley earned a spot in the title match when Josh Jarvis and Seth Karg pulled out a second set tie-breaker over Hammad Affan and Philip Colen at number 2 doubles while  Indiana's Joey Bujdos was just winning a first set tie-breaker.

"The guy's certainly made a valiant effort today especially with Evan Ray at third singles and  Affan and  Colen dropping quick first sets but fighting back in really close second sets.  Both matches came down to little things that until today had been going our way as we pulled out very close matches over the past few weeks."  (Coach Palko)

Four seniors (Joey Bujdos, Evan Ray, Philip Colen and Hammad Affan) will graduate from Indiana's starting line-up so next year will be an opportunity for some new faces to make an impact.

"My assistant coach, Mark Bungo, does a fantastic job working with our JV team and he thinks we have some young players ready to make an impact next year" (Coach Palko)

Number one player and WPIAL Singles Champ Zach Palko will return to Hershey next weekend for the PIAA singles tournament.

"Zach played two very solid matches the past two days especially in light of the fact that he's dealing with a finger injury that happened in the Mercyhurst Prep match earlier this week so he should be ready to give it his best shot." (Coach Palko)

"This team has so much to feel good about.  Winning a WPIAL championship and advancing to the PIAA top four teams is a fantastic accomplishment."  (Coach Palko)
