The Indiana Indoor Track and Field team ran Saturday at a Tri-State Track Coaches Association Meet at Edinboro University. The team was led by Kendall Branan’s 2nd place effort in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.17.
Other place winners for Indiana included the boys 4x400 relay team of Joey Bujdos, Evan Ray, Matt Berzonsky, and Branan who placed 3rd with a time of 3:40. Individually Anthony Bevevino placed 5th in the shot put with a throw of 42-2.5.
On Friday a small contingent of runners attended a meet at the Spire Complex and turned in some stellar performances. Joey Bujdos led the way for Indiana winning the 1600 meters in 4:28.58 and the 800 meters in 2:01.42. Bujdos’s time in the 1600 meters ranks as the top time in that distance in the State of Pennsylvania so far this indoor season.
Also placing for Indiana was Matt Berzonsky in the 800 meters (4th place 2:02.15), Iago Jopia in the 800 meters (8th place 2:04.32) and Tucker Davis in the 1600 meters (7th place 4:47.98)
The team will look to continue their successful start to the indoor season this Thursday at Penn State University.
