INDIANA INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD @ EDINBORO UNIVERSITY

The Indiana Area indoor track and field team participated in their first meet of the 2020 season Saturday at a Tri-State Track Coaches Association invitational at Edinboro University which included athletes from 59 high schools in Western Pennsylvania. Senior Kendall Branan led the Indians with his first place performance in the 800 meters running 1:59.64. Jameson Kutz also started the season on a strong note taking 2nd place in the triple jump (42-8) and 5th in the long jump (20-1.5). Isaac Roadman began his senior season placing 3rd in the pole vault (13-3).

The Indiana boys also had some strong performances in the relays placing in 3 races on the day. Joel Beckwith, Tucker Davis, Owen Putt, and John Berzonsky started the meet taking 2nd in the 4x800 meter relay (9:12.63). The team of Branan, Kutz, Putt, and Evan Cox took 2nd place in the 4x200 meter relay (1:38.97). Finally Beckwith, Davis, Berzonsky, and Jack Cikowski placed 4th in the distance medley relay (11:37.97).

Sara Welch paced the girls on the day taking 5th place in the long jump (14-9). Faith Hartle earned the ladies other top 8 finish placing 8th in the pole vault (9-6).

The team will hit the track for their second meet of the season this upcoming Thursday at Penn State University.
